The State Government of Western Australia, through the Treasurer, can refer matters to the ERA for us to conduct an inquiry. The aim of these inquiries is to provide independent advice and recommendations on an issue.
An inquiry is triggered through the Treasurer providing us with the terms of reference for the inquiry, which set out what it will cover, the reporting date and any public consultation period requirements.
Once complete, our final report is forwarded to the Treasurer, who must table it in Parliament within 28 days of receiving it.
